Stockerbox - the story so far.............

I was given my first boxer at the age of two, a flashy red and white bitch called Bodie. She was my first love and made me determined to never be without a boxer! Boxers have been in my family for a long time. My grandfather was an enthusiast in the 1950s and 60s, having first encountered these loveable clowns during the war. My mother also owned boxers and my aunt, who lives in Italy, is also a fan.

As a teenager I had a lovely red and white bitch named Codie as my constant companion. It was during my teenage years that I began to show horses and I also worked at a boarding kennels, the proprietor of which showed Standard Poodles. These experiences made me determined to enter the world of showing boxers, when I had the time and finances to do so.

I met Tom whilst at Agricultural College and for our final 18 months of University we shared a flat on a farm in Staffordshire, along with Codie the boxer, Josie my siamese cat and my horse Crackerjack. Sadly Codie died in February 2004 aged 10 years. Tom and I graduated in June 2004. Tom in Agriculture and myself in Equine Studies, Business Management and Marketing. We were lucky enough to buy a rural bungalow with some land and decided the time was right to get another boxer and begin to form the Stockerbox kennel.

I always knew that I wanted a red and white bitch with some continental bloodlines to be the foundation bitch for Stockerbox. We contacted Mary Hambleton of the famous Marbelton kennels and were thrilled to welcome into our lives Marbelton Belle of the Ball at Stockerbox (Bella). She has exceeded our expectations, giving us a great start to both showing and breeding.

Tom and I were married in July 2005 and as a wedding present to ourselves we purchased Marbelton May Day at Stockerbox (Lucy). Lucy is the kindest person. She has done well in the show ring and has also achieved her Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze and Silver Awards. Our affix Stockerbox was granted in October 2005.

We have been taking a break from showing and breeding for the past year owing to the pressure of work. Our commitment to the boxers remains as strong as ever and we have made a number of changes to enable us to focus on the dogs. We have plans for two litters this year. Please contact us for further details.
